Basics of Pistol Shooting

If you are applying for a Florida Concealed Weapon or Firearm License, state law requires proof of firearms competency — including live fire observed by a qualified instructor.

This course satisfies that requirement.

You will complete classroom instruction first, followed by a scheduled live-fire session at the range to fulfill Florida’s training standards. The live-fire session will be scheduled one on one at the training.

What we cover

Safety, always — the four rules, safe storage at home and in the car.

Florida law — where you can carry, use-of-force basics, interacting with police.

Your firearm — operation, loading, malfunction clearing, maintenance.

Fundamentals — grip, stance, sight picture, trigger press.
05
Live fire — supervised range session.

Who this is for

This class is for Florida residents who want to apply for their concealed weapons license. No prior experience is required, and no prior training courses are needed.
